you know I had a problem like that too, happened when the engine would heat up. In my case the problem was vapor lock in the fuel line cuz the line from the pump to the carb was resting on aheater hose. So when engine heated up the fuel would too till the point it vaporizes, the more you rev the engine the hotter it gets. The engine would spudder and then quit, let it cool down and start it up again it'd be fine. I don't know if that's what's going on here but just thought I'd put that out there.
