My engine just started cutting out on me when I have driven about five miles. It acts like it is running out of gas. I have a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new points and condensor, cap and rotor. I have a half a tank of gas. My compression is 120 - 150lbs on all cylinders.

My truck did run at 220* for a while, but the water and oil look ok so I don't think the head is warped plus the comprssion is good.

If I keep the choke closed it helps allot, if I open the choke the truck just shuts off. Vacume leak maybe?

What is the knob on the side of the distributer?

What gives? :confused: Any help would be appreciated.

It only happens after the truck is warmed up and driven for a short while, idles fine when cold.
