The diameter is the same on both defroster outlets on the splitter of my
"Harrison HD 04 54" Air Flow heater. The port on the driver's side defroster vent is larger diam than the port on the passenger vent. I bought cloth defroster hose from Jim Carter and returned it because I thought that it was too large diam. Bought smaller diam from Chevs of the 40's. Then I figured out that both suppliers were right ... one supplier had driver's side hose; one had passenger side hose! As I said, I ended up stuffing the (small) hose inside the driver's side vent.
This page from the '54 Accessories Installation Manual shows TWO bushings on the driver's side: one one the port to the vent and one on the splitter at the heater. Don't know if it is a misprint. My heater would only need one bushing ... on the splitter port of the heater going to the driver's vent, assuming that the large diam hose was connected to the driver's side and the smaller diam to the passenger side.
