To torque those manifold bolts, you'll need a 9/16 crowsfot adapter or box end adapter. The crowsfoot adapters should be fairly easy to find, any parts store or Sears should have them. The box adapters might be a little trickier to find, I got mine from Snap-On.
for chasing threads, you'll want a thread chaser tap and die set, rather than a dull normal tap and die. The chasers are made to clean and reshape the threads, rather than cut new ones. A dull regular tap or die may actually cause more damage. A good set of chasers, with standard 1/4 though 9/16 in NF and NC, plus metric from 6mm to 14 mm can be found for around $50 US at Sears, Snap-On, and most other places. They are a very good investment, especially if you're going to be doing your own service on vehicles.
