I mounted mine back under the bed with plenty of space above and below it. It doesn't have a fan on it and after 11 years the fluid still looks and smells like the day I put it in. I am running a Turbo 350 with shift kit in a 3200 lb truck, I have pulled trailers and drag raced it. As long as it gets air flow, you can put it any where. The low to the ground street rods just tuck them into the frame rails with out problems. Some of the first Power glides were air cooled, they just cut holes in the bell-housing and had some sort of fins on the converter, and they lasted for ever!
