W/O pulling the pan, we are all just guessing in the dark. If the engine has sat w/o running, rust is very possible. Old engines can sit unused, as oil has penetrated everything. But a rebuild has been cleaned & tanked, everything is dry, dry, dry-the only lube is where the builder put it, & after so long it is prolly gone, dripped down into the pan. Priming the oil pump does little to lube essential parts if the engine is not rotated during the priming process. Losta folks miss that. My guess is a wrist pin or a rod bearing. My $.02,,Brian
