maybe a few creative PO's [or dealers] in the past adapted the car mirror to the truck?

I'd guess about 90% of the pre-72 trucks I've encountered did not have inside mirrors, but did have both outside ones - it wasn't until federal law started requiring 2 mirrors, either left and right outside or left outside and interior, that inside mirrors were commonly available, maybe 54?
