The whole Apache (1/2 or 3/4 ton) platform is not up to the task.
IMHO, even with the biggest brakes and torque monster V8,
the chassis/wheelbase, etc is just too "light duty" to be effective so safely
haul the weight and length you are talking about.
To keep it "retro", Maybe a body swap to a later model 1 Ton chassis....?
