As for what I was doing, I was knocking aluminum rivets out of 737 airframes. Standard routine: drill into the body of the rivet, snap off the head with the punch, punch the body out. No big deal and every other punch I used worked fine for the exact same task. I dont know if I got a bad lot that were over hardened or what, but two failures on the very 1st use on the 1st rivet? it's just messed up when I borrow some no-name POS punches that lasted me the rest of the day,... Twice.

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
