Look at the old transmission input shaft, measure the length of the nipple. Cut the new one to the same size. Do the same for the bearing retainer. Remember measure twice cut once. Measure the length of the splines on the input shaft and use a grinder to extend them further if needed, a dremel tool would work. As for cutting the shaft and retainer a cutoff tool would work, just measure carefully and cut staight.
