I worked at a machine shop where PVC was used for air lines-it was put up 20+ yrs ago-it broke somewhere about once a month-boss just kept glue/couplings on hand. I think chemicals/oil in the air supply must make it brittle over time.
I just ran mine in black pipe, cheap, worked well...the local lumber shed cuts & threads it to length.
