The shop I use showed me three thickness of material that could be used for my seat. There is no way the stock clips would fit over the two thicker materials. My seat actually had a thick (but cheap) recover over the original and had much thicker clips. I saved both when I stripped the seats. The shop I use said they had plenty of new ones and didn't want them.
