Yar.I guess its a matter of personal opinion.I am 72, and have sharpened many bits freehand on a grinding wheel.Maybe its just the fact,that I can sit down at my workbench and listen to some good tunes while using the Drill Doctor.Sorta like taking a one hour break.And yeah,an old machinist friend taught me how to sharpen them freehand.
