No Tiny it will not make it read more fuller but the under frame tank I installed in My truck was only 8 1/2 inches deep so I had to shorten the float rod to give the rod more room to move up and down in the space I had,If the tank would have been 12 or 14 inches deep The rod would have been longer to read right so now it reads full when full and empty when empty.
