I recently bought a 'chrome' gas cap for my '52 from American Classic. What a piece of cr@p. I thought they had accidently shipped a stainless cap instead of the chrome one.
The guy at AC suggested I use a magnet to see if it is chromed steel (magnet sticks) or stainless (no stick). It was steel, but a really (bad) chome job. I emailed my disappointment, but to no avail.
Shoulda just kept on using the rag that was stuffed in the fill tube when I got the truck. The rag was shinier than my new 'chrome' gas cap..
