You give very little information to go by Pete, so I don't know what sort of vehicle you're refering to. The bumpers that I bought from Classic Parts of America a couple of years ago for my 1950, AD looked just fine, and I'm kind of picky. My only complaint was that they didn't round over the edeges before plating which may cause problems later on down the line.
They were advertised as and had a tag that read "tripple chrome plated" which I take to mean that they were copper/nickle/chrome plated, but that may not be the case.
My guess would be that LMC or any of the other vendors are getting them from the same supplier, I can't imagine there being to many manufacturers of Advance Design bumpers in the business today.
