Two things that make it all worthwhile. 1 is the acknowledgment of my peers (you guys). The other is the smile that always comes across the face of those who see it.
BTW, She is going to be in the Charlotte Thanksgiving Day parade carrying some kids who have cancer. Some are recovering some are terminal. It is in support of Drumstrong (
www.drumstrong.org).
A while back, I saw a news report on TV about a '52 Chevy truck that got stolen. It was being prepared for the parade to carry the kids and promote DrumStrong. My wife and I looked at each other and came to the same conclusion, "we gotta help!"
I contacted the DrumStrong folks and they were overjoyed. My truck does not have a hitch on it to pull a float but it will be carrying some of the kids and flying the banners for the organization. It's a great chance to bring some joy to these kids which is one of the main reasons I built the truck in the first place.
