My heart breaks for your loss. I have lost loved ones as well and know the terrible pain. You are in my prayers.
I started and served as Pres. of a technology group here in Charlotte that donated food and clothing at every monthly meeting. Since we averaged 300-400 people at each meeting, we were averaging about 50 tons per year in donations (over the ten year period) that went to the homeless shelters and food banks. I'm a big believer in helping out those in need.
