I've found on my truck that when the springs were not attached the hood laid flat against the cowl , as soon as i attached the springs it pushed the hood up in the back . It turned out that the hinges had so much slop at the pivot points that the pressure from the springs pushed the hood up . I haven't found how to fix the problem , i would like to replace the rivets in the hinge w/oversize ones . That would remove the slop. Has anyone done this repair before. Can new hinges be found ? mark
