Just to add.....the key to getting a really tight fit is to have 3 persons working in concert.
Persons 1&2 each place one hand on the top surface of the hood and the other hand on the vertical surface on both the passenger's and driver's side. With the block in place, both push down and back (with gusto) while the third person snugs down the interior bolts. With the interior bolts snug...raise the hood and tighten the remaining bolts.
Pop out the block and unless the hood has been seriously sprung, or your hinges are badly worn, she'll lay flat as a pancake. If you've got gaps between the hood and a fender, loosen the fender to core support bolts and make adjustments accordingly.
The key is to have the block, and 3 folks to get it to lay flat on the cowl. Hope this helps.
