If you can push the back of the hood down and it stays down first try oiling all pivot points. Then open and close the hood several times to spread the lubrication. I can't tell you how many "sprung" hinges I "fixed" by oiling them. If you push down on the back of the hood and it's solid (won't push down) but high it needs adjusted.
