Hey guys. Here is the latest: the engine backfires through the top of the carburetor when it is turned over. I just don't know what to do at this point. At TDC on cylinder one, I've tried the rotor dead on plug one, and a little before plug one so it fires on the down stroke. Everything I've tried makes it seem like the plugs are firing too early.
When cylinder one is TDC, the rotor should be pointing toward the front passenger tire, the distributor cap clips should parallel with the motor, and plug one tower should be furthest away from the engine block, right?
Should I mess with the retard/ advance setting or is it too early for that? It is almost like it's too advanced. PLEASE HELP!!! I'll try anything, and thanks for sticking with me guys. Don't give up on me.
