The Buffalo Enterprises adapter is 1/2" thick. It will move the transmission 1/2" further back on your currect bellhousing. The total move back will be about 9 1/4".
I'm not positive that the 49-54 bell housing is the same "depth" as the 41 bellhousing. If it is, the move back would be about 8 3/4", but that depends on that bellousing "depth".
