Mike- I think Buffalo Enterprises {(360)652-7684} in Arlington, WA. makes the adapter you are looking for. I also believe that Joe Fuchs in Texas (sixcylindersovertexas on here) is in the process of using this same adapter on a '37 to keep the stock bellhousing and pedals, but adapt the T-5. Maybe Joe has his ears on and can jump in here?
The adapter will adapt the bolt pattern and the T-5 front bearing retainer diameter down to fit the '47 and earlier bellhousing. If I remember right, the Buffalo adapter is priced pretty affordable too.
