It would be no problem putting a 1941-52 splash 235 crank in a 216 with proper pistons, apparently some Canadian engines came that way. The problem with putting a 1953-62 full pressure crank in is the thrust bearing is narrower. I looked into having a block machined for the narrower bearing but could not find anyone set-up to do this.
