cool, sounds like ya got 'er figured, yes that heavy red wire is what needs to be switched on and off, certainly best not to have power to any acessories when yer in bed
I don't have a 58 manual, just 55 and 57, and a different diagram I found on the net that I think was 58-60 car, but all are really the same
