Thanks. Things a re a bit clearer now.
The Fentons are a poor product on the outside. I'll have to take a grinder to finish what someone didn't. The flange is very rough and very uneven on the backside. So milling down the face to equal the Offenhauser thickness will still produce an uneven mounting bracket. It seems that removing material from the backside will acheive the necessary results. Is that what Barry Weeks was refering to?
