The wedge brakes will work, but they are certainly not the system of choice. Make sure that the plungers are free and the brakes are adjusted properly

I will look to see if it can be retrofitted to a newer valve.
Looking over my tanks so far I just found 1 duel compartment tank I thought I saw 2 tanks the other day but it was getting dark out today so tomorrow going to look the air system over good. I'm going to get a 63 truck manual I think it should show more on my air system as the 66 truck manual that come with the truck keeps refering to the 63 book. What I would like to see is in side photo or something in the manual showing where the air control valves should be located at. Right now both are on the far left side below the dash. I don't think thats where they should be. I should have most of the day tomorrow to play with the truck.
