I got the opportunity to drive a 90's ford-chassis school bus when I moved to Wisconsin. It had Bendix air brakes with a swinging pedal.... I absolutely LOVED those brakes.... I'd put air brakes on my truck in a heartbeat if it weren't for the gray area about needing a CDL to drive it.....
