Here's a question I've had for years, and am very unclear on. Are harmonic balancers custom drilled to balance the engine they're installed on, or are they all interchangeable on a given engine type? Note the drilled balance holes in the picture that was linked to above - would they be unique to that engine, or does the factory just have a gon full of balancers that are pressed onto the engines as they go by?
