jdl, concrete blocks long ago earned the name "widow maker," for good reason. Buy some good jack stands for your truck, and don't be messing around under it or along side it unless it is properly and solidly supported; and that doesn't mean good jack stands placed on soft soil- I've looked at the pictures of your truck you posted a while ago. I know concrete blocks are readily available, and many people have used them to support vehicles- and a lot of people haven't survived the exercise, either.
After that balling out, I agree with OldSub on his advice.
