When a rear is jacked up, the wheels will spin in opposite directions because of the spider gears in the carrier inside the housing. This won't cause the driveshaft to rotate until you either hold the other wheel steady or turn it in the same as your turning the other one.
Id would first follow everyone elses advice and disconnect the linkage at the transmission and move the levers directly on the transmission to their neutral positions as described above by a few of our fellow bolters. Once the levers are in neutral spin both rear wheels in the same direction (or 1 wheel with the other held in place), it shouldn't take much effort if the trans is truely in neutral. Once you are sure the trans IS in neutral (but for safe measure id SAFELY raise the rear wheels off the ground) you can try to turn the engine over, even if the clutch is stuck in its engaged position but the trans is in neutral you should have no problem turning over the engine (as long as everything is good with the engine and the starting system.
