Richard is right. MY '62 has such a low first gear due to the rear end ratio that I just use 2-3-4 as running gears in the muncie 4 sp. If you have a 3 speed, you will still wind up with a 1st gear so low it's difficult to live with. Pull off the rear end cover and count the teeth to find out eactly what the heck you have there before you decide on a trans.
