I just did that swap with a 383 TPI in a '62. The torsion bars interfere, so no one makes headers for that conversion. Block huggers from Patriot is what I used. If you don't use headers, then you have to come up with some original v8 manifolds. Also, try to find a front motor mount and a bellhousing from an original '63 V8. That will give you a 3 point set up using the original 2 side motor mounts on the v8 bellhousing, the hydraulic clutch if you have one, and a saddle mount single point up front. This set up will give you plenty of room for exhaust and does not require a fabbed up crossmember in the rear or fabbed front side mounts. If the 4 speed you are using is a muncie, or borg warner clone, it will bolt in although you will have to massage the floor cover. If you use some other trans, better do some serious measurements so the X frame does not interfere. You will need a new trans/driveshaft yoke. The Hurst shifter for the c-10 won't clear if the seat is pulled up all the way, so I notched the seat. A fan shroud from a '64 Impala will work if you modify it, using a 17" fan and either a long water pump or short pump with a fan extension (you need a good radiator and an overflow bottle). You will also need a v8 accelerator lever. If you have generator, now's the time to dump it in favor of an alternator with internal regulator. There are other things that you need to do like gas line mod, but this is the major stuff.
