I find it hard to believe that rims that bolt to a disc brake hub vs. a rim that bolts to a drum brake makes any difference as far as rim strength.
I can understand if the tires are slightly different in size, but what difference can it make to the rim when the contact points of the rim to the hub (disc or drum) are the same?
I'm sure that rims are stronger as time goes on, but I need more information for me to swallow that morsel.
