Torpedo heaters in a small garage can suck all the 0'2 up quickly , i used to use one yrs back an after 20 minutes you could start to feel the effects , getting light headed etc....the noise is also terrible an they smell.
I would suggest the propane heaters as mentioned above.
Stay away from the topedo heater in a small work area.
