I lost oil on the rockers of mine too. There is a new weed eater line out that has piano wire molded into it, makes a perfect cleaner using a strong carb cleaner to break up the sludge, worked it all the way through and oils fine now.
This was done with the tube REMOVED from the motor.
Unfortunately I run mine too long and still have other noises to figure out
