Brian, your story hit me where I can feel it. I have been a trucker for longer than most, and I can tell you two things for certain: One, there's a fair bit more to the job than "keeping the 80K on his side of the yellow line", and two, for some incomprehensible reason, some guys - with CDL's and everything - can't even handle that part with a dimensional load, and are a damned embarrassment to the rest of us.
I apologize for the industry to you and to the spirit of old black truck (which lives on in your Suburban).
We probably won't see that particular mental defective in these parts (not many hopper bottoms in these parts) but we have plenty of our own, and we show them no mercy when they screw up conspicuously and try to deny it
