I know this might be a bit off topic but it does refer to kit cars or the new kit trucks. In this province the special vehicle groups are lobbying the government run insurance company to let kit cars be classed as collectors and get the very inexpensive insurance. The big stipulation for getting any collector insurance here is that the vehicle has to be mint. My 49 has its share of paint blemishes and chips and to me its a classic. But because of its scars the government will not accept it in the collector classification but on the other hand if the 2006 built 1932 Fords with SBCs and fiberglass bodies can be called collectors why can't mine.
