Jeff, it is a stock 49 Chevy half ton. There is a bit of play in the king pins but not dangerously so. The roller wheel bearings are perfect and the tie rod/drag links are good. The lever/arm front shocks have been replaced with tubular. I don't carry any major weight in the back and normally drive city streets and country roads. Very seldom on a freeway or at high speeds.
As mentioned I had radials on my 53 and they were okay but the bias ply I have on the 49 run really nice except at 45 mph when I feel the out of round.
