COSMO - the wider rim story is a result of my tire dealer(s) refusing to use the stock rims because of safety. He says (and I've read it) that the 215-85R16 needs at least a 5.5" wide rim. He would put them on if I insisted but would not warrant them nor would the manufacturer and because the rim is narrow the sidewall would bulge more than normal and it would be riding high on the crown of the tire. Believe me I'd love to use my stock rims.
