Unless I am totally confused, which isn't unheard of, '65 c10 is telling us that reverse is left and up. He also says it's a three speed.

If this is true, and he can crawl under it to straighten the linkage to get things going again, then I think it says this is a three speed with a conversion kit on it. I don't think anything in three speed came from Detroit with the shifter on the floor.

It's the old "gate" issue that causes these problems.

Am I way off base on this idea? It isn't the tranny, it's the shifter, or as we called it, the conversion kit...conversion from three on the column to three on the floor.

Hurst made them along with Ansen and a bazillion more. Patricks sells one in the four speed configuration. I think Patricks has small holes in the arms to put a setup or alignment pin in to adjust the gate properly.
