I've never had low-profile tires on a truck, but I had them on a sports car for several years. I actually took off my 17" $2500 rims and swapped them for a more conventional set of 16" mags because the low profile tires a) wear out in about 20,000 miles - I burned through three sets of tires in under 3 years, b) cost twice as much, c) have poor traction in adverse weather conditions, and d) let you feel every ripple in the road.
I'll never go back, but ultimately it's your truck. Your driving habits and conditions are likely different than mine, so this is just a little food for thought.
