Kimberley, I didn't choose the low-profile tires. They were on the truck when I bought it. At first, I didn't like the wide wheels, and my mechanic told me wide tires "might" make the truck drive a bit funny. So, I considered going with 8 1/2" wheels.
I now like the wide rims. But, I do not like the low-profile tires. I want taller tires if I keep them. This is all new to me, so I'm just asking questions from those of you who have more experience.
Keith, you sound like my mechanic. He told me I didn't need the wheels, and could help me get a really good deal on some 8 1/2" Vintage American mags, which I really like.

BTW, Homer, my mechanic informed me today that whoever "lowered" my truck did it by heating the springs. I might end up jacking it back up with normal/HD springs.
