Brendan, Gertrude was the name of my dog that I had before joining the Air Force, and also was the name of my '53 Allis-Chalmers WD-45 tractor. My tractor had the faded orange A-C paint, and for some reason, the tractor reminded me of my dog. Even the tractor shedded sometimes...parts, that is!
