OK, and continuing on with the chain auto parts stores suck fest, I'm officially done doing any business in person with any auto parts stores in San Diego.
Stopped at an Autozone on my way home from work yesterday to get lower ball joints. According to their website, they're normal store stock. According to the parts guy they're special order only but a couple other stores in the area do have them. No problem, I'll stop on my way home the next day and grab 'em.
So I stop off today. The guy brings out two different boxes with same part #. I open them and they're different. No thanks and I head off to the other store that has them. I get there (and not exactly on my way home) and the guy brings out two different boxes. Correct part# but, different joints.
As I'm standing there, a guy walks up and says he needs an air filter for a '95 Range Rover. Girl at parts counter punches keyboard and says, "What Year"? '95. Girl says, "What kind of car"? Land Rover. Girl says, "Yeah but what kind of car? You know, Ford, Chevy, Toyota"? The guy turned around and left and so did I.
On my way back home, I stop at an independant parts place. Guy says he can get them in 2 days and the cost............ $90 a piece! For lower ball joints! Just can't win around here.
Is it too much to ask to get 2 correct ball joints? Jumpin' John on a pogo stick!
I'm ordering all parts online now.
