The worst thing done to my '59 Viking was cutting and lengthening the wheel base. The body tag and title says it has 132" wheel base, but it is more like 160". Because it looks like it was done professionally, and it sits and drives straight. I believe that it was done by the same company that installed the grain bed and hoist.
It's kind of ironic, that big bed and hoist is what I like best about the truck. So, in that sense, the worst thing is cancelled out, because it is also the best thing.
Even though it is not original in that manner, it truly represents a truck of that period, where a truck would be modified to improve its working capacity. That says a lot about the older vehicles, and the people that worked on them.
