Put two new tires on my newly repainted stock rims on Friday. I drove the '54 to a family picnic on Saturday. A disabled young man rushed out of his house to talk to me about the truck after I parked it – told me it should last "at least ten more years, it was fixed up so nice!"
Truck got the "Dad" review at the picnic. He hated my new tires and said it looked like a farm truck (I WANTED it to look like a truck). He did approve of my pin-striping job on the cab belt line and on the rims, though.
THEN, we took the truck home to rebuild the wheel cylinder, which turned into a two-day rear brake rebuild. Glad it's over. Jim (my husband) is in the front yard washing the dust off right now – so we had a full truck weekend! I'll have dirt under my nails 'til Wednesday.
