We have finally been getting some much-needed rain, so Sunday, soon as it started raining, my grandson and I climbed in the '46 and drove up to the store. He's twelve. He, his mom, and her parents just moved to Texas from California (they turned out to be smarter than first thought).
Well, now, the rain was just pourin' outta the sky, but the wipers were doin' a fair job of swishin' the water off the windshield.
When it is 90+ degrees and raining, the humidity goes through the roof, and that makes it a bit cozy with the windows rolled most of the way up. But when you are driving around in a Stovebolt, who cares?
Came back with some Blue Bell ice cream and root beer, and we all sat on the back porch watchin' the rain, lightning and thunder in the distance across the pasture, enjoyin' a root beer float.
Stovebolts sure do make livin' a lot better, its just the bees ya gotta watch out fer.
