I think the exact opposite is true - with a manual, you are more involved with the vehicle, so you pay better attention (unless you're the idiot woman on her cell phone who difted across lanes in front of me yesterday... :mad: ). I find my attention wandering more when I'm driving an automatic.
Everyone should learn to drive and take their driving test on a manual. If you can't handle a clutch, you don't get a license. After that, if you want to drive an automatic, fine.
